첫번째 싱글곡인 Rolling In the Deep의 대성공 여파가 아직 가시지 않은 시점에서 MTV의 VMA 2011 공연 이후, Someone Like You가 빌보드 차트에 급상승하며 1위를 차지했네요.
VMA에 노미네이트 되었던 Rolling In The Deep은 좋은 곡이지만 뮤직비디오에 대한 수상을 하는 VMA에서 노래 내내 거의 의자만 앉아있는 Scene밖에 없는 뮤직비디오임에도 불구하고 7개 부문에 노미네이트되어 의도치 않게 많은 사람들에게 입방아에 오르내리며 비난을 받기도 했었죠.
하지만,VMA 공연이후 아델의 주가는 더욱 치솓고 있습니다.

또한,레이디가가(Lady Gaga)가 You and I 공연을 위해 남장을 한 상태로 아델에게 담배를 쥐어주고 불을 붙여주는 장면이 비하인드 카메라에 잡혀서 잠시 이슈가 되기도 했었습니다.
