바로 이 Arcade Fire(아케이드 파이어)의 Wake Up 입니다. 배순탁님이 2000년 이후의 최고의 앨범으로 꼽은..특히 데이비드 보위(david bowie)도 반했다고 소개한 밴드입니다.
이 Wake Up이 실린 앨범 Funeral은 이미 전설(?)이라 생각됩니다. 이런 인디,아트 락을 구사하는 밴드라니..
Arcade Fire는 캐나다 밴드입니다. (캐나다 밴드하면 또 Nickelback이 생각나네요...ㅎㅎ)
무려 8명의 멤버로 아트락 답게 아주 다양한 악기를 연주합니다. 그런 악기들로 아주 풍성한 사운드를 선보이죠.
또한 2010년 3집앨범인 The Suburbs는 Grammy for Album of the Year, the 2011 Juno Award for Album of the Year, 2011 Brit Award for Best International Album 을 수상하기도 했죠.
하지만,개인적으로 Funeral 앨범의 충격과 그 무게감은 차원이 다르다고 생각되네요.. 전 처음 Arcade Fire의 음악을 접했을때 유라이어 힙(Uriah Heep)이 바로 떠올랐습니다. 그중에서도 July Morning이요...정말 가슴속 깊은 곳에서 무언가를 확 쏟아내는 그런 명곡들이죠.
아...빨리 듣고 싶습니다. Wake Up....청춘의 심장이여 다시한번 일어나자!!!!
