앨범타이틀은 "Here and Now"
그중 두개의 싱글을 먼저 내놓았습니다. 오늘 소개해드릴 Bottoms up과 When We Stand Together 입니다.
아래의 Bottoms Up 노래를 들어보시면 아시겠지만 오랜만에 가슴 뻥 뚫리는 Rock 입니다. 요즘 분위기에 비교적 강한 Rock을 추구하며 그들만의 색깔을 유지한 Nickleback 이었지만, 이번 곡은 특히나 맘에 드네요, 강한 음악을 좋아하지 않는 대중에게도 어느정도 어필할 수 있는 곡이 될 것 같습니다.
또한 기타리프도 쉬워서 메탈키드들의 좋은 카피곡이 될 수도 있다고 생각되구요...
초반 드럼은 흡사 Metallica의 연주곡 Orion 의 도입부와 유사하여 어어지는 기타 리프를 기대하게 하는, 또한 기타리프에 이어지는 강한 채드 크로거(Chad Kroeger)의 보컬이 이어지고 있구요..
또한 개인적으로 리프 연결 시 들리는 피킹하모닉스는 이전 오지오스본의 기타리스트 였던 잭 와일드 (Zakk Wylde)가 생각나기도 하네요.
깔끔한 곡구성이 메탈리카의 5집때의 음악적 변화도 기억나게 해주기도 합니다.
아~ 이런...글을쓰면서 노래를 듣는데, 예전 Testament의 Envy Life와 곡구성이 매우..ㅋㅋ

최근 몇 안되는 파워 그룹 중 하나이긴하지만 대중적인 Rock과 HeavyMetal의 경계선을 절묘하게 줄타기를 잘~하는 그룹이라 생각되네요.
앨범 발매 후 충분히 Bottoms Up 해도 될 듯 !!!
그나저나 가사를 보니 우리나라 술문화를 보는 듯하네요. 사실,Nickleback도 우리나라에 와서 쉽게 Bottoms up 하잔 말 못할 듯싶은데...^^;
